Overlooking the Hills of The Jordan Valley. Deadman’s Hill has stunning views. Especially with the leaves changing color.

We decided to go check out the fall colors & get some photos. Deadman's Hill is a couple miles down the road from The new EJIW (East Jordan Iron Works) in Elmira MI.

It was very busy when we went. Parking wasn’t the best. We had to park and walk a little ways.

There has been several fatal accidents in the Jordan Valley but none of them were as well known as Samuel Graczyk AKA ”Big Sam” a Lumberjack in the Jordan Valley.

Big Sam was soon to be married when tragedy struck. May 10, 1910 he was killed driving a team up a steep slope with a truck full of logs.

Since that fatal day its been known as Deadman's hill.

Trail at Deadman’s Hill. The trail is a 3 mile loop through the woods. It was amazing to see all the beautiful colors. If you don’t feel like walking they have beautiful drive through the valley.

Any time of the year is always a great time to visit Deadman’s Hill & The Jordan Valley.

Thank you for reading!

Sarah
